The 4th Annual Columbia County Benefit Breakfast

Tuesday, June 13, 2017   7:30 – 9:00 AM

Meriwether Place in St. Helens

Please join us for the 4th Annual Columbia County Benefit Breakfast in support of Columbia County’s most vulnerable children. The event will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 7:30am, at the Meriwether Place in St. Helens, Oregon (1070 Columbia Blvd.)

This complimentary breakfast also includes guest speakers, who will focus on the work CASA is doing in the community, as well as the dire need for more CASAs in the region. Featured guests and presenters from the 3rd Annual Breakfast included: Senator Betsy Johnson, Commissioners Earl Fisher and Henry Heimuller, Diana Shera Taylor, Defense Attorney and retired Municipal Court Judge in Columbia County, and CASA volunteer Jennifer Herbst. CASA’s Executive Director, Betsy Stark Miller, discussed the growth in children served in the county.

Last year, approximately 50 CASA supporters raised $12,336 in support of CASA for Children’s Columbia County program. All funds raised during the 4th Annual Breakfast will support CASA’s work in Columbia County.

Thank you to Columbia River Receptions & Events at Meriwether Place for hosting the breakfast, and to Brown Butter Bakery and Starbucks for catering the meal and coffee.

In Diana Shera Taylor’s words:  “…foster placements can change, as do DHS caseworkers, schools, and counselors… children learn that they cannot trust the adults around them to always be there for them.  CASA volunteers remain with the children throughout the life of their cases, providing the only constant and consistent contact, which the children know they can rely upon. CASAs are necessary for providing valuable input that helps keep the children on a path to safe and stable homes.”
